Top 10 dates of the summer: Part 10

The summer with him was more than I could have asked for.  As you can imagine, since we were finally able to be together for a long period of time, we had many opportunities to go out on dates.  I am going to share with you my Top Ten Favorite Dates of the summer of 2015. (In no particular order, and as always, there are lots of pictures!)  If anyone is looking for some date ideas, I would highly suggest any of these!

  1. Making breakfast.

    Our famous Oatmeal pancakes!

On Saturday mornings we would make breakfast together, usually resorting to Oatmeal Pancakes or French Toast.  I loved being able to cook with him, then sit down and talk about what we wanted to do that day.  Cooking with him is funny to me because we first met working in a kitchen at camp together, so we have been cooking together from the start.

  1. Pizza on the beach. img_3094

Though I said these were in no particular order, this one could easily be my #1 favorite date.  On occasional weekends, we would order a pizza and bring it to the beach with us.  We laid out a big towel and would sit for hours talking with each other and people watch.  We went just as the sun was starting to set, so the water was reflecting the cotton candy sky.  I mention this date in Summer Nights as well.  A date that I love so much deserves double mentioning!

  1. Going to the movies and walking around the outdoor plaza.

This one was great for a night out.  We would go to our favorite outdoor plaza that I have mentioned before in Summer Nights as well.  We would go early so we could get our tickets, then we would walk around, going into stores until it was time for the movie.  After the movie, we would walk to the middle of the plaza and sit under the gazebo or on the edge of the big water fountain.

  1. Waking up early to see the sunrise. IMG_1655

We only did this one once, but we woke up one morning, rolled out of bed, brought a coffee with us, drove to the beach, and sat in the sand until the sun broke through the clouds and over the edge of the ocean.  Afterwards, we went out to breakfast. Chasing the sunrise with him was so much fun, we both love adventure and being outdoors.

  1. Going to the gym.

One day, before we went to the gym we decided to try some yoga.

Most days after work, we would go to the gym together.  Some days we would opt out because we were too tired or wanted to do something else together, but I really enjoyed working out with him.  It was fun lifting together or doing our own thing.  I think it taught us a little more about how we can work together because it took some getting used to.  He was used to doing his routine and I was used to doing my workout routine, but if we wanted to workout together, then we both had to adjust our routines a little.

  1. Biking to the beach after work.

One day, we got home from work and did not feel like going to the gym.  We both just wanted some down time together.  So we decided to bike to the beach and walk along it together.  We walked to the end of the pier and sat in the sand and got to enjoy just being next to each other.  The evening was cloudy and somewhat cool, for Florida.  This was a spontaneous date in the middle of the work week that we both needed.  It was good for us to realize when we needed some time to just be together rather than rushing off to the gym after work.

  1. Spontaneous dinner dates. FullSizeRender 4

We had planned to go to the gym after work that night, but when he got home from work, we were sitting on the couch and he asked if I wanted to go out to dinner instead.  We both got ready and went out for Taco Tuesday.

  1. Ice-skating. FullSizeRender 10

One night, we went to the ice rink.  We had so much fun skating around, pretending like we knew how to do twirls and spins.  We laughed most of the night.

  1. Movies and milk shakes.

Some nights, we would have movie marathons.  But what is a movie marathon with out milk shakes?  Before starting the movie, we would drive to our favorite place to get milk shakes then bring them back, and our movie marathon would begin!

  1. Paddle boarding.

One day, we rented paddle boards and paddled out to an island that wasn’t too far from the shore.  The weather was very windy, but that made it more fun. Neither of us had much experience paddle boarding, but after that day, it became something that we loved doing together!

Do you have any fun date ideas?  I would love to hear from you!

  1. [Found you at the Community Pool]…It looks like you have a great time together, and not only have a romantic relationship, but one shared between two friends. I have been on a few dates with my significant other myself. Like you, the talking and laughing together part of the date is my favorite. I also liked the white water rafting, archery, wave running, golfing, attending football, hockey, and baseball part as well.
